MEET THE ARTISTMichael Hiram Miller
Michael is the quintessential Nature Photographer that loves the outdoors and all things nature. He started out as a landscape photographer focusing on Seascapes, Waterfalls, Rivers & Sunsets. He later invested in equipment that would allow him to expertly pursue his true photography passion of Wildlife Photography. He is very intentional about capturing images of the Natural World! All of his images are real and captured without the aid or influence of AI. His edits are minimal, with care given to not manipulate or alter the scene. You may also notice there are no manmade objects in any of his images.
Prior to venturing into his 2nd career as a Nature Photographer, Michael was a 30+ year Senior Level Manager for fortune 100 Companies in the Oil, Gas & Convenience store industry until his early retirement in 2023. His career included regular travel to some of the most scenic locations in the Western U.S. including Alaska, Hawaii, California, Oregon and his home state of Washington amassing over 1 Million Miles as a traveler with Alaska Airlines. It was what he observed on these Business trips that sparked his interest in photography.
Using the camera on his phone, he would try to capture images of some of the beautiful scenes he was experiencing to share with family and friends back home. However, what he was able to capture in those cell phone images, didn’t quite match up to what he was observing. So he purchased his first DSLR camera kit, which included a basic crop sensor body and a couple of entry level exchangeable lenses. While that offered an improvement over what his phone was able to capture, it still fell short in being able to capture the scenes he was witnessing.
His next step was to upgrade his camera to a prosumer grade camera and his first professional grade lens. He also hired a Photography Coach to help him learn both the art and science of photography. From there, Michael continued to attend photography and print workshops, invest in all professional grade equipment in an effort to continue to develop his skill as a photographer resulting in the launch of Creators Canvas Luxury Fine Art Prints in 2026.
